PWN SUMMIT - CELEBRATING INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN
Meet these women (and men!) who have changed the world.
POST ONE
Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

"I was elected by the women of Ireland, who instead of rocking the cradle, rocked the system." - Mary Robinson, first female President of Ireland
Did you know that in Ireland you were first allowed to keep your governmental job as a woman post-marriage only starting in 1973?
Mary Robinson began protesting this and many other Irish laws that disadvantaged women as a young lawyer in 1969. Challenging the status quo caused rifts with her family and outrage from the media, but she persisted, and that was only the beginning.
She is one of the most accomplished people world-wide. She was the first female President of Ireland, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the recipient of numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, given to her by President Barack Obama. Currently she is Adjunct Professor for Climate Justice in Trinity College Dublin and Chair of The Elders.
We are celebrating Mary at the PWN Summit on March 8th at 17:00 CET - don’t miss her story, and be inspired to #challengethestatusquo, because there is still more work to be done.
POST TWO
Roberta Metsola - First VP, European Parliament

“No geographic size should limit your potential” - Roberta Metsola, First Vice President of the European Parliament
Roberta Metsola is a lawyer and has specialised in European law and politics. She served as Malta's Legal and Judicial Cooperation Attaché within the Permanent Representation of Malta to the European Union.
She was first elected to the European Parliament in 2013, becoming one of Malta's first female Members of the European Parliament. She was re-elected in 2014 and then again in 2019.
In 2020 she was elected as the First Vice President of the European Parliament, becoming the first Maltese national to hold the post.
We are celebrating Roberta at the PWN Summit on March 8th at 17:00 CET - don’t miss her story, and be inspired to #challengethestatusquo, because there is still more work to be done.
POST THREE
Francesca Gino - Professor, Harvard Business School and author of "Rebel Talent"

“Francesca Gino is the best kind of rebel: the one who doesn’t just break the rules, but invents a better way.” — Adam Grant, New York Times bestselling author
The theme of International Women’s Day 2021 is ‘choose to challenge’, because that is how to advance gender equality.
We are delighted to have Professor Francesca Gino as a speaker, because she has been inspiring people to challenge the status quo professionally for her whole career. In fact, she wrote a book about it, ‘Rebel Talent.’
According to Francesca, rebels change the world for the better with their unconventional outlooks; by defying the status quo they are masters of innovation and reinvention.
Francesca is an award-winning researcher and teacher, and a tenured professor at Harvard Business School. She is a sought-out speaker and has been recognised as one of the world’s Top 40 Business Professors under 40, and one of the world’s 50 most influential management thinkers.
We are celebrating Professor Gino at the PWN Summit on March 8th at 17:00 CET - don’t miss her story, and be inspired to #challengethestatusquo, because there is still more rebelling to be done.

POST FIVE
Mircea Geoană, Deputy Secretary General, NATO

“Understanding and integrating the gender dimension in the military is key . . . we know that more equality translates into better performing militaries, and a more operationally effective Alliance.” - Mircea Geoană, Deputy Secretary General, NATO
One of the pillars to achieving Gender Balanced Leadership is to involve men – they are often in positions of power, giving them a unique ability to change attitudes and policies.
Mircea Geoană is a strong advocate for gender equality, and as NATO Deputy Secretary General, he is in a position of influence, enabling him to spread this message to the 30 members of NATO - powerful indeed.
We are extremely pleased to have Mircea speak at the PWN Summit because we believe a diversity of speakers will make it a better event.
We are also seeking a diverse audience - so please invite your colleagues and friends of all genders to join us in honouring International Women’s Day by ‘Celebrating Inspiring Women’ on March 8th at 17:00 CET – because the fight is not just for women – and we need all the help we can get.
